YogaBuds has ultimate responsibility for health and safety at the centre. Its duties are discharged through the principal, taking all reasonable and practicable steps to ensure the health and safety of all that make use of the centre’s facilities.
Success in health and safety management is dependent upon the integration of health and safety into all management functions within the centre.
The principal is responsible for the formulation, implementation and ongoing policy development in the field of health and safety.
The promotion, enhancement and maintenance of a positive health and safety culture within the centre is achieved by:
Management will also ensure that all activities are adequately resourced both financially and physically.
This safety policy will be reviewed at least annually by the person responsible for Health and Safety and amended as circumstances required.
It is our fundamental belief that all injuries can be prevented. Compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the relevant statutory provisions is to be regarded by all tutors and learners as the base from which to work.
Health and Safety issues effect everyone who is part of YogaBuds Teacher Training Courses. Responsibilities of staff and students are:
YogaBuds is committed to creating a working /teaching environment, which is safe and healthy. All tutors and learners have an essential role in the creation of an active and positive health and safety culture.
YogaBuds requires all tutors, learners and graduates to take reasonable care of their own safety and of the safety of others.

All tutors learners and graduates are responsible for ensuring that they conduct their activities and those activities over which they have control, in a manner and in accordance with the Yogabuds Policy, associated Codes of Practice and relevant statutory provisions.
Any incidents or accidents that happen whilst teaching in a school are to be reported to the person responsible for Health and Safety at the school, and also to YogaBuds. It is advisable to study the Health and Safety Policy of the school. Tutors , learners and graduates are responsible for ensuring that yoga is practised on safe, clean, non-slip surfaces and that class teachers are aware that pupils need to be in PE kit or similar dress. Tutors, learners and graduates will need to look to suitability of props that may be used to help children and adults to maintain a more comfortable posture, and will need to ensure that all such props are clean, accessible and in good condition.
Tutors, learners and graduates are responsible, as far as possible, in finding out any information about the children or any adults taking part in the yoga who may be vulnerable to injury or discomfort because of a medical problem.
Tutors, learners and graduates need to observe the Health and Safety procedures of the schools where they are teaching. To this end they need to familiarise themselves with the rules about the following aspects:
