You will spend time in local schools with children, as well as at the centre, which helps you quickly build confidence and expertise in the type of environment in which you will be working. You will benefit greatly from expert speakers leading workshops in their chosen specialisms. Assessments are designed to be practical and vocational, as well as challenging and interesting. They will include research projects, reflective accounts based upon actual experiences, as well as major written assignments and presentations.
YogaBuds will act as an agency to help you find work in your local schools and ensure that you are paid well and quickly for your work. In addition you will have access to promotions and marketing materials.
The Edexcel accredited BTEC Diploma coupled with the fine reputation of YogaBuds nationwide for delivering yoga of the highest standard in schools, our empathic approach to teaching special needs, and our ability to link yoga to many areas of the national curriculum make us the obvious and safe choice for schools and we are, consequently, in high demand.
We will be supporting you by phone, in person, by email and will be providing continued training after you have achieved your Diploma.
The successful student will achieve The BTEC Advanced Diploma for Teaching Yoga to Children. The course is the best qualification in the country for this rewarding work. Edexcel is the UK's largest awarding body offering a range of both general and specialist qualifications, for UK and international markets.
A course accredited by Edexcel is recognised and valued throughout the educational sector in the UK and internationally. The accreditation brings with it a promise of quality assurance for students who want to do the course and an increased respect from schools who will want the safest yoga for their children.
Each training group will be a rich mixture of people from the yoga world and education professionals, who share equally the passion of teaching yoga to children in schools, and who will undoubtedly benefit from the sharing of expertise, the pooling of knowledge and experience, and the cross-fertilization of their skills.
Applications are welcomed from Primary and Secondary Teachers, Health Workers with experience of childcare, experienced Nursery Nurses, Special Needs specialists and, of course, from established yoga practitioners and teachers. All applicants need minimum two years yoga experience and must be able to demonstrate evidence of personal practice. Your ability to work empathetically and creatively with children is more important than a teaching qualification in yoga.
